Over the years, Namilyango College has been implementing a number of infrastructure projects in a bid to cope with the evolving needs. During heavy rains, a lot of runoff is generated from the impervious surfaces such as roofs. Whereas there were existing drainage systems to evacuate some of the runoff from the school premises, they did not provide a comprehensive solution to deal with the generated stormwater. The outlets of the drainage system for the tarmacked road were discharging a lot of stormwater towards the playground, causing it to flood.

NACOBA Consultants was contracted to undertake the design of a drainage system and manage its construction. The first phase of the assignment included topographical surveying, undertaking geometric and drainage design details, establishment of survey control details, project cost estimation and tender documentation for restricted bidding. The second phase of the project included the administration of the construction contract, supervision of the drainage construction. The construction phase was completed and commissioned in February 2025.
